Core of Volunteers

When you Adopt a Family, you become part of a trusted network where every act of help strengthens lives, builds resilient communities, and proves that together, we can meet needs faster and more transparently than any system alone.

No Family Left Behind

For Sandy Creek & All Central Texas Flood Survivors

The Core of Volunteers Adopt-a-Family Program invites every survivor of the July 4th Central Texas flooding to participate. Our primary focus is supporting Sandy Creek residents, but no family should be left behind.

We connect families with a Care Captain, a dedicated volunteer or group who walks alongside them through recovery, providing:

DIY Boxes

Monthly themed care packages

Lumberjack Cutting Down Trees

Help with work weekends and hands-on recovery

Discussing Books

Regular check-ins and emotional support

Girl Watching Sunset

Information on events, resources, and opportunities

Plus, additional guidance in setting up and maintaining a FoundationRegistries.org page so supporters anywhere can meet specific needs

Ways to Participate

  1. Adopt a Family – Provide ongoing support as an individual, family, group, church, or business.

  2. Be a Care Captain – Serve as a family’s point of contact and steward through recovery.

  3. Nominate a Family – Refer someone who could benefit from the program.

  4. Other – Offer another type of support or involvement.
